A few thoughts

One thing we've learnt is that it's not necessarily a good idea to use unusual parts. The roboteers are a fantastic, supportive bunch and are always happy to help out with spares where they can, and of course this is far easier if they happen to have an identical part in their spares box or out of commission robot.
